The Great Escape - 2011 - The End!!

It was hard to say good-bye to Larry and Elaine! They are such dear souls! My Mother calls them our "other brother and sister". So true!

Not many options to get from Southern Oregon to Kansas except for through Northern Nevada. Yuck! After all the gorgeous mountains and lakes we had seen this was rather desolate.

Scenery began to change leaving Salt Lake for Colorado via Highway 6.

It's a lonely road!

Frisco, CO, a favorite little town! It provided a great lunch stop!

The city has so many over-flowing boxes and pots of brilliant flowers!

Nastursiums - Rich's favorite.

Colorado's state flower, the Columbine.

About two hours into Kansas we ran into heavy rain. The rainbow crossed from one side of I-70 ...

to the other. We hoped it would be raining at home, but alas, it was not so. So we returned to a very hot and dry town.

We are so blessed to be able to travel and see the wonderful works of God's creation, to spend time with wonderful friends, and enjoy life. Thanks for coming along on the blog-journey with us!

  1. I took a long driving trip to and from Kansas to Oregon with my grandparents when I was in 7th grade....I very much remember the trip through northern NV...it is VERY desolate. Glad you guys had a wonderful trip and are back safely.
