Jeremy, Renee, and Maddie came for a delightful one week visit!
At 16 months, Maddie repeats every word you say, can say a few short sentences, and has a very sweet disposition. What a joy she was - even though she had an ear infection, sinus infection and respiratory infection when she came! Talk about a little trooper!!! Oh, and mom and dad, are pretty special, too!
Maddie loves to help in the kitchen! When she saw me at the sink, she said, "helping, helping". So out came the stool and we went to work - happily so! We had 11 for dinner every night except for the night Brett had a meeting, so dinner time was very fun and very busy! :)
You should have seen the look on her face when her cousins, Moira, Audrey, Isabel, and Maeve, walked in! She had the biggest "Oh!" expression and a big smile. She could say each of their names very quickly. She also recognized the photos on the fridge of her other Dewey cousins. Pretty smart little girl - and very loved by all!
No family gathering is complete without Papa playing the piano. How she loved to join in.
We played outside in the rock garden, finding rocks of different shapes, colors, and sizes.
And then the rain came so it was inside for four days! More piano music!
Playing with Grandma's toy box and lots of coloring.
Wearing funny old hats.
A fun place to hang out was the rocker in Grandma's office.
Or better yet, were cuddles and books with Mommie!
A break in the rain allowed the chance for a drive up to Lindsborg, a small Swedish community "up the road". What Dewey doesn't love ice cream!
Lindsborg is known for the iconic Swedish Dala horse. There are several decorated ones along Main Street.
The first family vacation photo of Jeremy, Renee, and Maddie. Who would think it would be in Lindsborg, KS!!??
